Your Mission in Action

The Food Transporter transports meals according to the planned meal schedule and maintains a clean, sanitized, and safe work environment in accordance with Child and Adult Care Food Program, Upbring policies, Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers, Head Start Performance Standards, other federal, state, county, and local regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Assists Cook in meal packing in accordance with schedules and procedures for transportationTransport and serve planned meals according to proper preparation methodsTransport meals in accordance with the Child Adult Food Care Program (CACFP)Ensure the proper amount of food is available for teachers and children during scheduled mealtimeEnsure all areas are clean, safe and properly sanitized and carries trash to outside dumpster for disposalDispose leftovers and assist in managing and maintaining fresh food productsComply with the company code of conduct and other applicable regulations and requirements, including Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), Upbring policies, and procedures, Child Care Minimum Standards, HSPPS regulations and standards, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and lawsAlways ensure the health and safety of each child in care, and support the overall well-being of childrenImmediately communicate with supervisor all concerns related to child health and safetyUnder the Center Directors' leadership ensure operations are effectively and efficiently supporting and meeting the health and nutritional needs of the children and center staffMaintains assigned agency vehicle(s) using checklist

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent Current Food Handler Certification Valid Texas Driver's license and proof of auto insurance; ability to meet Agency insurance provider guidelines as an insured and approved driver Familiarity with basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year experience in the food services industryAbility to safely transport and handle food while maintaining quality and temperature standards.Working knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures required by city, state, and county health department regulations Bilingual in Spanish and English based on service population
Travel
This position may be required to travel up to 75%
