Overview

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing job plans for the Maintenance Department.

Essential functions of the job include reviewing and prioritizing work orders, preparing Technician schedules, and utilizing CMMS and JDE systems to review and prioritize, assign, and close maintenance work orders.

The Planner will also supervise and coordinate priorities for purchasing parts, the work order process, and parts storage practices.

Responsibilities

Review work requests and work orders for priority and update work orders to appropriate statusDetermine job scoping requirements and either scope job or obtain scoping from qualified tradesBuild new PM's and add to the CMMS systemDevelop work procedures for maintenance jobs with necessary information, including skills, tasks, parts, tools, auxiliary equipment, contractors, and estimated time requiredDetermine required parts/materials on each work order; verify parts/materials are available and provide details to MRO buyer to acquire parts/materials as necessarySupervise weekend work activities when needed, be a trainer on the CMMS, support the parts room supervisor and Parts Clerks.Ensure all resources are purchased, entered in to inventory, and allocated through the work order process.Coordinate with the Parts Clerks to determine required parts/materials for all stock items. projects and verify parts/materials are available and assist in assembling kits for technicians.Coordinate with MRO buyer to identify material requirements, generate purchase orders and required delivery datesCreate and maintain standard task list for PMS and frequent jobsGenerate a complete 28-day draft schedule (2 week fixed, remaining 2 weeks tentative) and review with Operations to ensure available trades hours and asset availabilityWork with Operations and production scheduling to coordinate maintenance shutdown schedule with the production scheduleWork with accounting to give asset numbers to new and existing assets not currently in the CMMS systemWork with trades supervisors to understand status of ongoing work, including delays and overrunsConfirm material availability before scheduling jobsArrange and schedule the necessary special support equipment (contractors, cranes, etc.)Backlog management including daily, weekly and monthly backlog reviews and purging aged work orders as requiredConfirm start dates for work orders based on priorities and production needs Additional job duties as requested daily and weekly.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Some technical education strongly preferred.1-3 years of industrial maintenance and a technical understanding of plant and facility equipment required.Working knowledge of JDE and CMMS systems preferred.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeSome Excel skills requiredStrong organizational skills and ability to focus on details required.Strong communication skills (reading, writing and verbal) are essential to interface with co-workers, Team Leaders and Managers Ability to work as part of a team to achieve desired results; also, must be self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision.
