Job Summary
Our fast growing, production company is seeking a Machine Operator. This position will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to apply their knowledge, learn new skills and work as a member of a dynamic team, in a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate for this role will have 1 plus years' experience in the manufacturing sector, pay strong attention to detail and be committed to workplace safety. Additionally, the candidate for this position will be motivated to grow with Palmetto Gourmet Foods, building a career for years to come. Flexibility with scheduled workdays and shift preferences is required.
Machine Operator Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for Machine Operator
Set up machinery for operationStart machinery and make adjustments to machinery when necessary to improve performanceOperate machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)Troubleshoot issues and perform minimal maintenancePerform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisorComply with all safety and health regulations for food manufacturingResponsible for housekeeping of the general area around the machine including sweeping the work area and picking up loose items.Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) set forth by the Federal government for the food manufacturing industry
Qualifications for Machine Operator
High School Diploma or GEDPrevious machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experienceMust be detail-orientedUnderstanding of production and plant processesAnalytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurementAbility to follow written and oral instructionsAbility to work in a teamAbility to transport heavy materials, move about, and/or position self for long periods of timeWillingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)Occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to maintain stock of suppliesConstantly moves product and materials up to 50 lbs around work areaConsistently work in "non-climate" controlled production environmentAbility to bend, stoop, and climb throughout the shift
