Red Collar Pet Foods is looking for an Inventory Specialist to join our exciting new pet food business at one of our manufacturing plants. Who is Red Collar? Purpose of Role
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for insuring adequate and accurate inventories are available for meeting customer shipments and raw material stocking levels.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Review inventory counts verifying SKU accuracy between SPEDE and PRMS
  • Provide confirmation of inventory accuracy with justifiable adjustments
  • Document and report all adjustments with S&F and PRMS
  • Serve the contact to coordinate the removal and/or disposal of all inventories as approved by management: Damaged, Aged, Product renovation, Q&FS related
  • Manage verification of all site and third party deliveries assuring data information matches with SPEDE and PMS
  • Participate with quarter and year-end inventory verification activities with S&F
  • Participate and adhere to all food safety requirements, Quality Management Processes, and site safety programs ensuring that all standards are met
  • Demonstrate a quality culture in actions, words and spirit
  • Team & unit contribution, Productive and safe work habits, Prioritization, Dealing with Ambiguity, Peer relationships, Self-Development and Creativity
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects through proactive and reactive efforts including incident investigation and implementation of corrective/preventive actions pertaining to Q&FS
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

  • Must be capable of working at elevated heights and or confined space
  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)
  • Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals
  • Forklift assignments require OSHA certification and getting on and off frequently

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language
  • Working knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material Management Systems and procedures
  • Ability to read and understand the daily production run schedule, and execute to that plan
  • Ability to communicate to managers and team members any production, quality/food safety or other business critical information vital to operations and customer service
  • Successful completion of a substance screening and background check

Preferred Qualications:

  • Ability to operate a forklift/OSHA certification
  • Working Knowledge of food safety, GMP, GHOP, HACCP, SPC
  • Demonstrated competency in computer and pc software including MS Office and email
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles
  • Experience with JD Edwards
