Food Services Assistant (Part-Time/Seasonal)
What's the job?
We are hiring part-time Food Services Assistants to work in our Senior Nutrition Services programs. Working with the senior population is not your typical job, but it can be a very rewarding experience when you know your job directly impacts the community in a positive way.
What's the pay?
$9.00 per hour
How many hours will you work each week?
That depends on your availability. There is no guarantee that you will work a set number of hours each week. Senior Nutrition programs operate from 4:30am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional work being available on the weekends for catering orders.
Where will you work? You will work at the Downtown Senior Center or the Heritage Park Senior Facility. We do not provide these services at any other recreation center or facility.
What type of work will you do?

Food Safety and Health Department Requirements
Our nutrition programs follow all food safety and health department codes and regulations, so you will be required to present a Food Handler Safety Training card issued by the Southern Nevada Health District at the time of hire, and you'll also need to successfully complete the ServSafe Food Handler Program within 3 months of hire.
What about COVID-19?
If hired, you will be required to wear a face covering while at work and follow all City of Henderson COVID-19 safety policies, procedures, and practices like social distancing, washing your hands, and sanitizing work areas. Program participants and patrons visiting our centers must also comply with all COVID-19 safety rules and state directives in order to use our facilities and participate in programs.

This is a safety-sensitive position, which means that you are subject to drug testing if we offer you a position, as detailed under NRS 613(1)(d).
- Must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application.
- Must present a Food Handler Safety Training card issued by the Southern Nevada Health District at the time of hire.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an American Red Cross (or equivalent) standard First Aid and CPR certifications within the first three (3) months of employment.
- Completion of the ServSafe Food Handler Program within the first three (3) months of employment.
